DNS Virus Checker - Are you infected?

The Internet has been atwitter lately with talk of the DNS Checker Virus. The virus is a time-bomb set to go off on Monday, July 9th. It will cut off all Internet access from infected computers.

To see if you will be affected by this virus, visit http://www.dns-ok.us/. If the website displays a green background, you are good to go! This link does not install any software in your computer and the website is safe - it simply checks the DNS settings on your computer to see if you will be affected. For more information about what a DNS server does, see the graphic to the right. For more in depth information on the DNS changer virus, visit http://www.dcwg.org/detect/.

Remember that the best way to ensure your computer is virus free is to have a comprehensive, automatic security program on any computer with Internet access. We recommend AVG Internet Security.

Viruses have become so sophisticated that simply visiting a seemingly harmless website (such as foxnews.com or cnn.com) can infect your computer very quickly. For more information on viruses and what infections look like, visit the Virus Removal section of our website.
